     About us ...

Cestrian U3A is a registered charity affiliated to the national body, the Third Age Trust, and exists to promote continued learning and enjoyment in retirement through shared activities.  In keeping with U3A self-help principles we attach particular importance to our Activity & Study Groups - arranged by our members themselves. We have no religious or political affiliations and strongly oppose discrimination on the grounds of race, colour or sexual orientation.

If you live in or near Chester and are 50 or over and are no longer working full-time - and you would like to share your existing interests or explore new ones in a friendly informal atmosphere, a warm welcome awaits you.

We meet together at 9.50 am on the THIRD WEDNESDAY each month at the Quaker Meeting House off Frodsham Street: this is a good opportunity to socialise over coffee, exchange information and to hear a wide range of guest speakers.  Activity groups meet, usually monthly or fortnightly, at times and places arranged to suit their members.

A monthly newsletter with information about current and forthcoming activities is distributed free of charge. This, like the monthly general meetings, is covered by our annual subscription, currently £15.
