CESTRIAN U3A Birdwatching and
Natural History

We meet every month, usually on the  FOURTH TUESDAY. Lifts are usually available by prior arrangement for members without transport. (Please phone or email  the previous weekend.) Additional visits to coincide with RSPB and other special events.

We are a friendly group, with no pretence to being expert and decidedly not twitchers - this is Birding & Natural History for the Moderately Interested. We enjoy combining our sessions with a good pub lunch over which we can discuss the morning’s events.

We have enjoyed the excitement of watching Red Kites being fed and Ospreys caring for chicks, and the delight of seeing more common birds close at hand - wonderful to see a Siskin 6 inches from the end of your nose. Autumn & Winter are probably the most productive times, when over-wintering ducks & geese arrive.  In Spring they will be producing young, which is also a delight.

And the wild plants, animals and insects are a joy at any season.

If you would like to join us, you are very welcome.  Please give your name and contact details to Enid.  Email is by far the simplest and quickest way to contact members, so please let us use this if you can.
