CESTRIAN U3A

 WELCOME

To find out more, please click on the appropriate buttons at the top of this page.   If you live in or near Chester are 50 or over and no longer in full time employment and would like to share your existing interests or explore new ones in a friendly informal atmosphere, a warm welcome awaits you.

A monthly newsletter with information about current and forthcoming activities is produced.  This, like the monthly general meetings, is covered by our annual subscription of £15.

The Third Age Trust is the national representative body for the Universities of the Third Age

(U3As) in the UK.  U3As are self-help, self managed lifelong learning co-operatives for

older people no longer in full time work, providing opportunities for their members to share

learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for

qualifications, but for pleasure.

Cestrian U3A is a registered charity affiliated to the national body and exists to promote

continued learning and enjoyment in retirement through shared activities.  In keeping with

U3A self help principles,  we attach particular importance to our Activity and Study

Groups arranged by our members themselves.

We have no religious or political affiliations and strongly oppose discrimination on the grounds of race, colour or sexual orientation.

Membership is approximately 120 members.   This small size enables new members to find and make friends with others sharing similar interests.
