Members are elected at the AGM to serve for a period of two years and are eligible to stand for further service if they so wish. Officers are elected by the committee, with the proviso that Chairmen may serve continuously for no more than two years.

During their period of service, committee members are the Trustees of Cestrian U3A and as such are responsible to the membership and the University of the Third Age for the conduct of the association in accordance with the published constitution
