CESTRIAN U3A

Our September walk started in Tarvin at the George

and Dragon and was enjoyed in glorious walking weather.

12 of us participated in a very  varied walk.  We went through The Tarvin Community Woodland, across the packhorse bridge known locally as the Roman Bridges and alongside the River Gowy. We also had time to look around the Walkmill and have a chat with the miller

.We returned to the pub for our lunch!

Not the best of starts - the pub we were meeting at had closed the week before and as we set off it began to rain.

After a short while the sun came out.  Ten of us crossed fields, paths, stiles, two copses and some roads then along the Shropshire Union Canal towpath back to Tiverton and had an excellent re-arranged meal at the  Rising Sun in Tarporley.

Thanks to David for leading this stroll in the absence of our normal leader who is sitting with his feet up!   Best wishes to Cec for a speedy recovery following his recent knee operation.   We look forward to him leaping over stiles again soon.
